Valentines Day in LVA

Valentine’s Day is this month and if you are like me you may want to take your Valentine out for a dinner date. Problem is how do you choose? You may think that you have to go to Lexington, Louisville, or Cincinnati for a great meal, but as I have found out there are many great eateries right in the Licking Valley Adventures 9 county area. Below are just a few of the very many  locally owned options in each of our lovely counties.


Bath County-

Located in Salt Lick just minutes from beautiful Cave Run Lake is the Midland Frosty Freeze. The Midland Frosty Freeze has been a mainstay in Salt Lick for many years and this cozy locally owned diner will have your mouth watering at the door. Serving up homestyle cooking, daily specials, and tasty treats you really cannot go wrong with this one. Midland Frosty Freeze is located at 11295 US Highway 60 East in Salt Lick.

Bourbon County- 

If you and your valentine are fans of foreign cuisine you may want to give the Paradise Cafe a try in Paris. The Paradise Cafe serves up a taste of the orient for lunch and dinner each day. Whether you dine-in or carry out, you are sure to leave with a smile and satisfied appetite. Located on the corner of 8th and Main in downtown Paris. Bracken County-

This next restaurant has been a fixture in Augusta since 2003. The Augusta Irish Pub boasts a cozy atmosphere and even live entertainment. At the pub you can take part in trivia nights and their always delicious meals. The Augusta Irish Pub is open Wednesday-Saturday for dinner and is located at 120 Main Street in Augusta. Fleming County-

Echo Valley Winery was established in 2005, but is much more than a winery. The Event venue, restaurant, and vineyard strives for excellence in everything it does. Open for lunch and dinner daily except Sunday, the restaurant serves various american style food dishes that will have you longing to come back after your first visit. Echo Valley Winery is located at 1826 Mount Carmel Rd in Flemingsburg.  


Harrison County-

Sometimes the best things are the oldest. In Harrison County that is definitely true when it comes to the over 100 year old Biancke’s Restaurant. Serving everything from Burgers to pasta and seafood, this establishment has something for everyone. If you haven’t tried Biancke’s it is a must try. Mason County-

Pasquales in Maysville is a family favorite in the area. Serving up pizza, pasta, and more you are sure to get your fill of food without breaking the bank. Using the freshest ingredients and providing fast and friendly service, Pasquales will keep  you coming back for more. You will find Pasquales at  786 US Highway 68 in Maysville.


Nicholas County-

This next restaurant is locomotive themed and has been a fixture in Carlisle since 1991. Serving up hearty hamburgers, chicken sandwiches, and salads you will be hard pressed not to find something for nearly everyone. When you ask locals their favorite dishes you are most likely to hear about their caboose salad and cheese fries. Tracks is open for lunch and dinner daily, and is located at 5322 Concrete Road in Carlisle.  


Robertson County-

In Robertson County you will be hard pressed to find someone that hasn’t eaten at Pizza and More. This cozy home town favorite in Mt. Olivet is filled to the brim with dining options. From pizza to burgers and fish, this restaurant has a bit of everything. Located at 325 West Walnut Street in Mt. Olivet, Pizza and More is open daily, except Sunday, for lunch and dinner.
